A History of Excellence
F
ormed in 1999, the Education Foundation for Waxahachie ISD is a 501(c)(3) organization that exists with one reason in mind - to support and enhance quality education in Waxahachie schools by funding innovative educational programs that lead to increased student achievement. The Foundation is guided by a group of twenty local board members who volunteer their time.
Why Does the Foundation Exist?
With tax revenue from the state continuing to decline and district enrollment levels continuing to increase, the Foundation is committed to maintaining the quality education that Waxahachie students currently receive. While state funding and local tax dollars are stretched as far as possible, current funding covers only the basic needs of students in the classroom. In order to implement innovative and creative educational opportunities, outside resources must be identified.
When The Foundation Raises Money,
Where Does it Go?
F
unds raised by the Education Foundation for Waxahachie ISD directly benefit teachers and students. The Foundation financially supports a number of educational programs including innovative teacher grants, the annual Honors Breakfast, student scholarships and “Celebration!” - the annual District-Wide Student Showcase.
Our Mission
The Mission of the Education Foundation for WISD is to enhance the quality of educational opportunities in the Waxahachie Independent School District.
