Investing in Futures Beyond Graduation
The Education Foundation for Waxahachie ISD provides scholarships that help students take the next step in their academic journey with confidence and support.

Opening Doors for Waxahachie Students
Every student deserves the opportunity to pursue their goals and build a strong future.
Through scholarships funded by generous donors and community support, the Education Foundation for Waxahachie ISD helps students take the next step, whether that means earning college credit early, attending a university, or pursuing a technical career.
Each scholarship tells a story of belief, investment, and a commitment to the success of our students.
Dual Credit Scholarships
Since 2008, the Education Foundation has helped Waxahachie High School students get a head start on their college journey through dual credit scholarships.
Dual credit courses allow students to earn both high school and college credit at the same time, giving them a valuable academic and financial advantage. Courses are offered in subjects such as English, History, Mathematics, and Science, and are completed through Navarro College.
Students enrolled in dual credit courses are held to collegiate standards and must earn a grade of C or higher to receive college credit. Upon completion, students receive credit on both their high school transcript and their Navarro College transcript.
Through an annual application process each spring, students may apply for scholarship support. Applications are reviewed by the Education Foundation scholarship committee, and recipients are notified during the summer.
Since the program began, more than $100,000 has been awarded to support students pursuing dual credit opportunities.

Frankilou Jett Scholarships
The Frankilou Jett Scholarship is a lasting gift to the students of Waxahachie ISD.
In 2016, former WISD educator Frankilou Jett generously bequeathed her estate to the Education Foundation to establish a scholarship fund dedicated to supporting graduating seniors.
Each year, a minimum of $30,000 is awarded to students pursuing higher education, including college, university, or technical and vocational programs.
The first scholarships were awarded in 2017 to fifteen students, and since then, more than $250,000 has been distributed to graduating seniors across the district.
This scholarship stands as a powerful reflection of Mrs. Jett’s lifelong commitment to education and her belief in the potential of every student.
